Students are trained in all aspects of piano and/or electronic keyboard playing on top of the range Yamaha digital instruments, and have access to an excellent recording facility at the studio. Lessons include keyboard technique, note reading, sight reading, aural training and general musicianship skills. Lessons also consist of music theory, although it is recommended that those wishing to take the ABRSM Grade 5 and above practical piano exams consider extending their regular lesson time to include serious music theory study, as a certificate for Grade 5 theory is a requirement for all students wishing to take Grade 6 and above practical piano exams.
